Geocache Description:

I love cemetery caches. I have no idea why I have not done any before? This one is in Brush Creek Cemetery. Just a camo taped pill bottle hidden out there somewhere?

Caching dawn to dusk please!

I chose the spot for the hide then I started to look around.  Right across the road from the container is the headstone of GEORGE WESTOVER, 1884-1964, PVT. U.S. ARMY 1ST CAVALRY S.A.W.

I have a B.A. in history. For those of you who don’t know (And I expect that’s almost everybody) S.A.W. stands for the Spanish American War. The U.S declared war on Spain, April 21st 1898. Hostilities ended August 12th. A war that lasted 4 & 2/3 months. But that means that young George Westover enlisted when he was 14!    I hope the birth year is wrong.  It was common before the Viet Nam War that larger boys would lie about their age. But 14?
