Geocache Description:

A  rough drive to a remote, culturally rich location. Visit, learn and Enjoy!

This geocache is the only cache currently hidden in the area of Lake Eyasai.  It was places here during a cultural visit to the Hadzabe Bushmen and the Datoga tribes. These two tribes continue to live a simple existance.  The Hadzabe are hunter- gatherer's, living in caves part of the year and huts made from the Olduvai plant the rest of the year.  The Datoga live in mud boma, and are blacksmiths, making jewelry and arrow-heads using simple tools and recycled metals.  A visit to these tribes makes it well worth the rough drive from Karatu, but you will want to spend the night and visit in the early morning, unless of course you have simply driven all this way to find the cache! You can stop at the info and registration centre, and ask for local Datoga guide, David Barjeda to arrange your tour.  He also knows where to find the cache if you get stumped. Once you've found your way to the Chem Chem campsite you should be able to locate the cache with your GPS.  The keepers of the site also know where it can be found.  You will need to step up and reach up a little.  The cache is a sealed tupperware container.
