Geocache Description:

This cache is being placed on the 1 year anniversary of the end of production of the iconic Land Rover.

This cache is not at the listed coordinates, please do not attempt to go to there as it is on the Land Rover site and is private property. Only enter with permission, or if like me, you work there.

All information can be found easily on the internet.

Since its concept, it went through many guises over the years, from the Series I through to the 'modern' Defender, the design and image hasn't changed much and the way it was built hardly changed. Right up to the end, it was essentially a giant meccano set bolted onto a ladder chassis to give strength and rigidity. This vehicle has travelled the globe and many people still rely on its plucky determination to go on. Land Rover states that over 70% of 'Series' and Defender vehicles built are still running.

I work at Land Rover on the track in Final assembly 1 for green shift on Zone 4 (previously working in the paintshop, also green shift on PCU's 8, 9 & 3B), if you work here, put in your log which area.

This cache is not at the listed coordinates, to find the cache find 'x' from each of the following questions:

A - What year did the Land Rover Series I launch? 194x
B - What year was the Land Rover company formed? 19x8
C - The current Range Rover (4th Generation) carry what model designation? L4x5
D - When did Tata Motors purchase Land Rover (and it's sister company, Jaguar) from Ford? June 200x
E - To the nearest whole number, how many kilometres is it from the Solihull Plant to the Halewood plant (as the crow flies)? 1x4km
F - How much was the grant provided to Land Rover from the UK Government to develop the Evoque? £x7million
G - What is the model designation of the 3rd (and 4th) generation Discovery? L3x9
H - What was the Registration of the first Land Rover to come off the production line, affectionately known as Huey? HUE16x (the very last Defender carries a very similar registration too, H16x HUE)
J - What was the model designation of the 2nd generation Range Rover? Px8A

Logging Etiquette: Geocache hiders sometimes go through a great deal of planning to place their caches. As a result, they'd like to hear your feedback on whether you liked or disliked any aspect of the hide, the journey or location, or if you feel that some cache maintenance is required. Single word, acronym, or "copy and paste" logs may be easier when you have a lot of caches to log, but it doesn't tell the hider or other finders anything about your adventure (or lack thereof) in finding the cache. Please keep this in mind when entering your log.

TravelBug Etiquette: Cachers pay good money for TravelBugs and Geocoins. Please if you take a TB or GC from a cache will you ensure it is correctly logged in and out, also If you take one that still shows somewhere else please be patient before “grabbing” the item, it does not get its mileage by being grabbed and the last person to place may not have had time to log a previous find on the one you took it from. This is particularly important on busy and new caches. If you have an issue with a bug please e-mail the owner through their profile and advise them of the issue. They will be pleased to hear from you.
