Balancing Rock Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Hemlock: This cache has been brought to my attention via a "needs archived" log. This cache has been missing for over 2 years, which should be more than enough time to check on it and replace it if needed. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don't think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache.

When/if this cache is replaced, please email me at hemlock@geocachingadmin.com and I'll be more than happy to take a look at your cache again. If it is still is within the guidelines for cache placement and posting, it will then be unarchived.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Thanks for your understanding,
Hemlock

Geocache Description:

While looking at a map of Mt. Diablo, I noticed a notation that said "Balancing Rock." This sounded interesting so I tossed together a cache and head for the hills. There are probably several ways to skin this cache, the route I took was about 4 miles round trip along a fire road.

The cache itself is approximately .16 miles from Balancing Rock and about 135 feet off of the fire road. This cache can easily be reached by mountain bike. There wasn't too much poison oak around it.

This cache is an old fasion, chunk of tupperware, hidden in the woods (just like we did in the old days). No algebra, physics, puzzles, or new fangled mapping software required. Just a nice hike through the rolling hills.

The contents are standard Target close-out items, (toys, flashlight, thermometer, etc.) nothing special, with the exception of one of Pepper's cool bandanas.

As always, use caution when hiking in the East Bay Hills. Look out for Rattlesnakes, Poison Oak, Ticks and Bunnys with sharp pointy teeth.

There is a $2.00 entry fee into Mt. Diablo.
