Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the new park that the Town of Rhodhiss has just completed. You will be searching for a 30 cal. ammo can, full of swag. As usual, cache at your own risk. The Town of Rhodhiss, Groundspeak/Geocching or I the cache owner, are not responsible far any accident or injury. Parking area is at, N35 46.282 W081 26.068

The Town of Rhodhiss, has completed this new section of their nice park. It is to honor the history of the 1900 Horseshoe Dam, that was destroyed in the great flood of 1916. Bring the family to enjoy the nature trail along the lake. There is a picnic shelter with picnic tables, benches and picnic table located along the trail. Bring your fishing gear and canoe, there are fishing areas and a canoe launch. The cache is not wheelchair accessible, but they have a nice paved walkway to an overlook above the picnic shelter, you will have a good view of the lake and old dam from there. Please access the cache area by the nice gravel trail, to enjoy the area around the lake and the remnants of the OLD DAM. It will be around .24 walk around trail to cache area. After crossing the bridge get back on gravel trail, DO NOT WALK ON WALL. Go to steps and you will actually be crossing the old dam going to the cache area, USE CAUTION IN THIS AREA. After crossing the dam, stay on the fisherman's trail, until your GPS is showing about 85' from the cache, leave trail then. It was difficult to get an accurate GPS reading in the area. So be patient and you will succeed, that is the reason for the difficulty rating. Be safe, and happy hunting!!! **CONGRATULATIONS!! TO NeverSeenGene FOR THE FTF**
