LE SITE :
La commune de Sainte-Anne est une commune française, située à l'extrême sud de la Martinique Ses habitants sont appelés les Saintannais et les Saintannaises.
En 2014, la commune comptait 4 318 habitants et s'étend sur 38,4 km².
La commune de Sainte Anne occupe la pointe méridionale de la Martinique. Zone relativement plane et peu boisée elle fût habitée très tôt, à partir du IVème siècle, par les indiens Arawaks puis quelques siècles plus tard par les indiens Caraïbes. Les colons français s'y installent à la fin du XVIIème siècle et développent rapidement l'élevage bovin et la culture de la canne sur d'importantes surfaces.
La ville de Sainte Anne est le théatre du débarquement des forces anglaises à plusieurs reprises en 1693, 1762 et 1808.
La crise sucrière du début du XXème siècle, combinée à l'ouverture d'une importante usine au Marin entraine une baisse d'activité jusqu'aux années 60 mais le tourisme prend alors rapidement le relais et constitue aujourd'hui la principale ressource économique du lieu. Il faut dire que nombre des plus belles plages de Martinique s'égrènent ici le long de la côte: Pointe Marin, Anse Meunier, Anse des Salines (longue de 2 km), Anse Trabaud, Cap Chevalier.
Les hôtels, résidences de vacances, bars ou restaurants sont ici légion et la fréquentation touristique reste forte toute l'année. Outre le farniente en bord de mer et les activités nautiques. On citera parmi les choses à voir ou faire la place centrale avec sa petite église du XIXème, l'étonnant cimetière accroché à un promontoir rocheux en bord de mer, la visite des ruines de l'habitation Crève Coeur sans oublier la Savane des Pétrifications ou encore le superbe sentier de la Trace des Caps pour les bons marcheurs. Attention cependant à prévoir de la crème, de l'eau et un bon chapeau.

Une fois que vous avez trouvé une place pour votre voiture, le site est très facile d'accès. La cache de micro magnétique contient originellement le log, mais pas de crayon. Apportez donc votre crayon (BYOP) et soyez extrêmement discret, l’endroit est très fréquenté. SVP replacez la cache exactement à l’endroit où vous l’avez trouvé.

THE SITE :
The municipality of Sainte Anne is an extremely south French, placed municipality of Martinique.its inhabitants are called Saintannais and Saintannaises.
In 2014, the municipality counted 4 318 inhabitants and extends over 38,4 km ².
The municipality of Sainte Anne occupies the Southern point of Martinique. Relatively flat and little afforested zone, il is very early lived, from the IVth century, by the Arawak Indians then a few centuries later by the Carib Indians. The French colons settle down there at the end of the XVIIth century and develop quickly the bovine breeding and the culture of the cane on important surfaces.
The city of Sainte Anne is the theater of the landing of the English strengths repeatedly in 1693, 1762 and 1808.
The sugar crisis of the beginning of the XXth century, combined in the opening of an important factory in the Marin entraine a reduction in activity until the 60s but the tourism takes over then quickly and establishes the main economic resource of the place today. It is necessary to say that number of the most beautiful beaches of Martinique shells here along the coast : Pointe Marin, Anse Meunier, Anse des Salines(2 km long), Anse Trabaud, Cap Chevalier.
The Hotels, holiday residences, bars or restaurants are here legion and the tourist attendance remains strong all year long. Besides the idleness by the sea and nautical activities. We shall quote among things to see or to make the central place with its small church of the XIXth, the surprising cemetery hung on on a rocky promontoir by the sea, the visit of the ruins of the house Burst Heart without forgetting the Savanna of the Petrifactions or still the magnificent path of the Track of Capes for the good walkers. Attention however to plan some cream, some water and a good hat.
