What is it about?
Burwell Community Cleanup Campaign (BCCC) was launched in September 2016 and looks for volunteers to help with litter picking in the village between 10.00 and 12.00 noon, usually on the last Saturday of every month (NB this month it is on the fourth Saturday). The first of their days was in September 2016, and the second cleanup day on 29 October included our first geocaching CITO event (GC6VAAN). This will be our second CITO event, and we hope once more to work with the BCCC so as geocachers we can help the Campaign.
What we can do:
Geocachers can work together with this community group (which has the backing and support of Burwell Parish Council) to improve the outdoor environment in the village. If you can help, please do come along - litter pickers and binbags provided (we suggest you bring gloves and drinks!)
When:
10.00 to 12.00 noon 22 April 2017
Where to Park:
There is a small amount of on-street parking nearby and we have also been offered parking at The Fox public house (see Parking co-ordinates below) with kind permission of the landlord. This is a very short walk away from where we need to meet.
Where to Meet:
Meet at Burwell Parish Council's Jubilee Reading Room, where we will get our instructions from the Campaign organisers who have given permission for the CITO event.
Before or after:
There are three pubs in the village which serve food at lunchtimes, along with a chippy and a chinese takeaway if you want some lunch afterwards, and there are over 25 geocaches in and around the village including Traditional, Multi, Puzzle, Wherigo and Letterbox types which can be included in any caching plans!
