Geocache Description:

Let's meet deep in the swamp and talk about geocaching.

At the end of the event I hosted last year in Jaxson's Ice Cream Parlor I was told to take some more time on my next visit and experience real Florida geocaching. I indeed kept in touch and a year later, I'm ready to venture with CBX25 and other local cachers into this remote corner of the Everglades. We are inviting others, who want to visit the mythical Ed Watson's homestead and log the famous virtual cache, to join us on Saturday, March 11, from 12.00 to 12.30 pm on posted coordinates. We'll have a quick picnic with whatever is going to be in our backpacks, some geochat and trackable exchange, I might even run a fun raffle. Or a best mosquito repellent contest. 😉 We should leave by 12.45 with the high tide.

‼️ You can only access the location by boat, so plan ahead. Boats can be rented in Everglades City. Reading nautical chart skills will be of great help and some form of navigation device charged to last for a day is essential (but you're a geocacher, so you never go out without one, right? 😉). Check the tide charts. Remember this is wilderness. Carry enough drinking water. Dress properly, don't forget the repellent and sunscreen. It's going to be an adventure. And fun! ‼️
