Illyés Gyula (1902-1983) a XX. századi magyar irodalom egyik kiemelkedő alakja, különösen szociográfiai tanulmányai, köztük a Puszták népe közismert, melyet több nyelvre is lefordítottak. Emellett költészete, falu- és magyarságkutatási érdemei is elismertek, meséket is jegyzett. A Józsefhegyi úton levő, pazar kilátással rendelkező házan élt élete végéig.
Gyula Illyés (1902-1983) was one of the more prominent figures of Hungarian literature of the 20th century. His benchmark works were sociographies, including "People of the puszta", which has been translated to many languages worldwide. His works also include various volumes of poetry, essays and novels regarding the history of Hungary and its rural population, and children's stories. Overlooking a beautiful panorama, the house at number 9, Józsefhegyi street, was his home until his final years.
