Geocache Description:

One of five camouflaged caches along the Creekwood trails in Fearrington Village. The series is designed to introduce visitors to featured trees and other flora along the trail. You can gather information at each cache that will help you find two bonus caches nearby. Bring your own pen or pencil.

The suggested parking is for the series as a whole. You may also park near the trailhead for Fearrington Flora 3 and 4.

Caches are located no more than 25 feet from the trail. On the log sheet you will find a letter-digit pair. Use the pairs from each cache in the series to find the location of a bonus cache, Fearrington Flora Bonus 1.

Each cache is also within 30 feet of an information sign, which may describe a tree or other plant, or serve as a memorial. The signs are adjacent to the trail. Use them to answer questions about the plants or other features.  Use the answers to find a second bonus cache.  See Fearrington Flora Bonus 2 for a list of the possible answers.

There are two bonus questions for Fearrington Flora 4:

What color are the leaves of this plant?
What color are the berries on this plant?

Note:  In the woods the GPS signal may be unstable. However, the hint below should be helpful.

This cache series recognizes the contributions of Henry Castner, who has contributed more than anyone else to creating and maintaining the Fearrington trails.
