Geocache Description:

Cache is a small, screw top container with a small FTF token if you wish, and otherwise has room for only very small trade items.  BYOP and please replace just as you found it.  Log is water resistant paper; if it happens to be damp, just give it a wipe and sign your visit!  Plenty of parking and wheelchair accessible.

Until just a few years ago, around 2014, the neon lights of Desert West brightened the western corner of this small community under dark night skies.

Road Forks had a post office from shortly after its founding in 1925 until 1955, when postal services were transferred to Lordsburg.  The community was founded in 1925 by Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Porter, who gave it its name.

Road Forks was once a small, bustling community where truckers would fuel up, rest, have tires repaired, and eat a good hot meal.  People lived here, in houses and trailers.  The last resident left in late 2016 and now this area is a ghost town.  Come have a look around, and imagine to yourself what some of the conversations between people might have been who either lived here, or stopped by on their way to who-knows-where.

Be safe, have fun, and happy caching!

Congratulations to 2oldsobos for your FTF!
