Geocache Description:

The major advances in speed of communication and ability to interact took place more than a century ago. The shift from sailing ships to telegraph was far more radical than that from telephone to email!

Greetings again my friends!  As you know this is a letter box, and so the coords given are not exactly the cords for the cache itself.  Be rest assured you can find the real corrdinates below.

So what is letter-boxing and why is it so special?

Letter-boxing is an intriguing “treasure hunt” style outdoor activity. Letter-boxers hide small, weatherproof boxes in publicly accessible places (like parks) and post clues to finding the box online on one of several Web sites. However, clues to finding some of the most highly sought boxes are passed around by word of mouth.

There are about 90,000 active letterboxes hidden in North America alone. Individual letterboxes usually contain a log book, an often hand-carved rubber stamp and occasionally contain an ink pad. Finders make an imprint of the letterbox’s stamp on their personal log book, and leave an imprint of their personal stamp on the letterbox’s logbook.

I have continued on my 101 Letter-boxing series to Add Clues to help you find the cache.  It is very simple and straight forward but has enough challenge to make it interesting.   If you really need help continue to read the hints after the clues.

About This Letterbox

In this letterbox you will find a logbook, pen, and a stamp.  Please do not take the stamp, it is there for your pleasure in stamping your log book.  This letterbox DOES HAVE AN INK PAD, But you should always bring your own just in case the ink pad provided dries out.    This letterbox is nicely sized a brand new compass for our FTF.  I have also placed a travel bug ready to move on with it's mission.  It has a few kid toys as well, please do not take swag if you cannot trade with equal or greater value. This Letterbox will store most sized travelers.  Please Consider taking an optional photo of your journey and adding it to your digital log.

The clues

I made this puzzle for a particular geocacher in the area.  I will not name his name but he goes by the initials SS....yeah we know it's Sanders_Sooners..oops didn't mean to name drop.  This geocacher is a talented puzzle creator and has added many fine puzzles to our area for the enjoyment to all.  I thought that since he has put so much effort into making these puzzle caches, that I in turn should give him a puzzle that may take a moment of his time to work on.  I do so hope you enjoy this fun puzzle, for some it may take only a few minutes while others it may take longer.  Either way I hope you have enjoyed it, and perhaps added another tool into your geo-puzzle solving tricks of the trade.

Special Thank You

I want to give a special thank you to my Community Reviewer Chuck Walla. He helped fix a very important aspect of this puzzle, it is because of his continued dedication and keen focus on such complicated puzzles that keep people from going crazy and allowing quality work to be published. I appreciate all his time, efforts and diligence in the game. Thank you sir for giving it so freely!
