This geocache was part of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Wildlife Management Area System in 2017. There are 49 geocaches hidden on WMAs across Florida, from the panhandle to the Keys. See if you can find them all!

Each of the five units that comprise the Big Bend WMA have some slight habitat and elevation variations, but primary natural communities in each one are typical of the region and include hydric hammock, mesic flatwoods, tidal marsh and basin swamp. Numerous streams and rivers flow through or adjacent to the area. The geocache is located on Swamp Spur Road and is near an area where WMA staff is restoring native groundcover vegetation.
