Alligator Cliffs Traditional Cache

This lake could be Horton Pond's twin! This location is beautifully blended with its woods and lake. It's easy to forget you're on Jekyll Island.

Currently as you drive in, there is a small pine tree down across the road near the entrance of the parking area for the lake, just park in front of it and walk around it.

This is a most scenic locations hidden away in the forest of Jekyll Island. There is a variety of terrain here, as you wander around the edge of the lake with the shady elevated cliffs along the banks. This is one of Jekyll's largest lakes, yet it is rarely visited for the simple fact most people don't even know it is here. With the other dirt roads in the area, most people stop before getting here, and wind up missing out on this picturesque spot that is easy to reach. Even with the cliffs in the area, it is still safe enough for caching with kids. (Our little ones enjoy coming out here.) This regular sized cache has been changed from its original form and now has a guardian that now looks over it. Be on the lookout for wildlife as usual.
