Texas History--Kicaster Community Traditional Geocache

I have always loved reading the historical markers put out by the State. This cache is located at a historical marker near my home.  The historical marker and the nearby cemetery are all that is left to remind anyone of the little community of Kicaster.  It was settled in the 1860's.  a school was built in 1872 and a post office in 1887.  The post office closed in 1906 and the school in 1940.  The cemetery, which was first used in the 1870's is still being used today, but nothing else of the original Kicaster community remains.
