Geocache Description:

The cache is located about two-tenths of a mile off of the road up to the Pikeville Overlook at Bob Amos Park. This one is a little more difficult than the other caches that I’ve placed in the area, but still not very hard. The trail entails some changes in elevation, though the only climbing involved is near the cache. There are cliffs and steep, treacherous terrain in the area, so please be careful.

Head up to the overlook at Bob Amos Park in Pikeville. The easiest way to find the parking spot is to go to the overlook, turn your vehicle around and head back the way you came. Look for the two big rocks on the left side of the road which mark the trailhead. Parking coordinates are N37° 28.284, W082° 32.341. The trail grows very faint (at the tree of Oz) a few hundred feet short of the cache’s location.

The cache is in a clear Tupperware container and (originally) included the following:

*an emergency poncho
*Mardi Gras beads
*a Hike America walking staff medallion
*a Bayer keyring
*a Wranger Jeans pin
*a blue sunglasses retainer/cord
*an orange survival whistle
*3 golf balls

This cache is in the same general vicinity of “Pikeville’s First”, thus making an easy two-fer.
