Indian Lake is located off Highway 92 within the Rima Ridge Tract of Tiger Bay State Forest between Deland and Daytona Beach. Look for a flashing yellow light, turn north at Indian Lake Road. Follow the signs and your GPS to Indian Lake Recreation Area.
On our travel paths here on Mother Earth, we have come to believe that there are positive and negative energies surrounding us daily. The Spirit-that-moves-through-all-things has given Mother Earth junctures of positive energy. These "power spots" will help those that need a charge to balance the negativity in our lives. Indian Lake is such a place.
These coordinates will gift you two-fold. Seeking the cache is the first. The cache is located within a green ammo metal box with items such as: "Plucky-the-Chicken" Travel Bug, a pocket knife, small tackle box, matchbox fire truck, mystic 8-ball, mini biners, a duck letter opener, and other assorted items. There is also a spray bottle of bug repellant which is to be left in the cache for those in need.
Our second gift is the beauty which surrounds you. If time is an issue then, just take a moment after your cache find, and enjoy what mother nature has to offer. Recharge yourself.
If time permits, plan Indian Lake to be your last geocache of the day. Bring food and drink. (There is a barbecue grill and picnic table near the lake.) Arrive one hour before sunset. Find the cache, then enjoy Father Sky's reflections over the lake. In these moments reflections can become many things. Let it flow. Open your mind …. This is our gift to you.
