Das Stift Göss ist ein ehemaliges Kloster der BenediktinerInnen in Göss. Heute nicht mehr erhalten sind die Pfarrkirche, der Friedhof und die Bauten westlich der Stiftskirche. Bekannt ist auch das Brunnhöfl, welches noch zum größten Teil erhalten ist. Von der ehemaligen Pfarrkirche, der damaligen Andreaskirche, welche in der Zeit von Kaiser Joseph II. abgetragen wurde, steht heute noch der Glocken- und Uhrturm.
Hinter dem Stift befindet sich die weltbekannte Gösserbrauerei, durch die man Führungen mit Verkostung machen kann.
Auf der anderen Straßenseite findest du das Gösserbräu. Das Lokal ladet zum Biergenuss ein, wo es zu bestimmten Jahreszeiten auch Spezialbiere zu genießen (Barbarabier) gibt.
Prost, Prost, Prösterchen
The Göss Abbey is a former Benedictine nunnery and Cathedral in Göss. After the abbey's destruction in 1782 the church is now used as a parish church. Now lost are the former parish church, the graveyard and the buildings formerly to the west of the abbey church. The Brunnhöfl ("fountain courtyard"), still largely extant, is well known.
Behind the abbey there is the world famous Gösser brewery, which you can visit and taste some beer.
On the opposite side oft he street you can find the Gösserbräu. The ambiente of the restaurant treats you to taste beer and on a very special time of the year, you can get the honor to try the Barbarabeer and some other special beer.
