Geocache Description:

Evergreen Cemetery is in Lyon County.  It is located south of Emporia, Ks on the east side of Highway 99.

For many years the cemetery was known as the Lower Dry Creek Cemetery.  The present day name was chosen because of the numerous evergreens in and around the cemetery.

The oldest grave I found was Nancy Lewis.  She died March 3, 1850.  There wasn't a date of birth on the stone.  It does say she was the wife of John Lewis and she died in Buchanna County Missouri.  She was 37 years old.

The cache is not in the cemetery but still be respectful.  Please place cache back where you found it.
