This is an area that I occasionally like to take the dog for a walk. One day I was here when we met Andy. He was in a bad way. You'd think someone young like Andy would prefer to ride his BMX around here. But No! Being a drop bear Andy likes to climb trees. The problem is that he isn't the most accomplished drop bear. He tends to fall out of trees rather than drop from them. That's why they call him 'Andy the accident-prone'. I hope you can catch him before he hits the ground.
While visiting his cubby, you might also like to sign his small 'Visitors Book'. He keeps it in a small plastic jar (so that it stays safe when he falls). Once you have finished talking with Andy, please return him safely to his cubby as found. (Please beware of wriggly sticks in summer.)
It turns out that just down the road is the only Ambulance Museum in NSW. This displays some of the equipment that has been used to either rescue Andy, or take him to hospital in the past. Also not far away is Don Bradman’s childhood home (from birth to nearly 3yo) along with other buildings moved and furnished for display. Find out more at temoraruralmuseum.com. (Their live display is on the second Saturday of March each year).
At different times, Andy talks about his cousins, Pete, Gary, Henry and Trevor at The Rock, south of Wagga Wagga. If you enjoyed meeting Andy, you might like to drop in and say "Hi" to them also.
