If you used the parking area, you will walk across the home pitch for the Winchester Youth Rugby Club. What?? Rugby in Winchester? Yes, Weaver Park has hosted many different variations of rugby over the years. The Winchester Cannons Men's Rugby Football Club practiced and played on this pitch until they merged with another team in 2013. Currently, multiple levels of youth rugby call this pitch home. The High School 15's season takes place in the Spring, and the High School 7's, Middle School, and Elementary School programs start at the end of May. From March until the end of July it is possible to watch rugby on this field.
The geocache you seek is affixed to a metal structre, so you should be able to figure out the container. You may want to bring a tall friend, or a step ladder. Please be respectful of the equipment and facilities at this park. Replace the cache appropriately.
