I have visited Nanaimo many times, and I have found many geocaches through out the city, so I thought I would give back and hide a cache along the shores of Departure Bay. It is a simple hide, one that can be found very easily, but getting to it might depend on tides, and whether you like walking on pebbles. The cache site gives you a great view of the surrounding bay, Newcastle Island, and the mainland in the distance. The ferry terminal is close by, so you'll probably see a ferry while you're signing the logbook.
The cache can be accessed either from the "Kin Hut" to the north, or a winding trail that begins from Departure Bay Road near Brooks Landing.
Please re-hide the cache well to ensure its longevity.
