When Thomas Simpson Middle School built an indoor pool, the fill dirt had to go somewhere; they chose to dump it in the field to the side of the school. Ever since I can remember, up until it was removed several years ago, Simpson Hill was one of the coolest spots in town to hang out. In the winter, the different terrain on each of it's sides made it an awesome sledding hill. Sadly, the only thing standing in it's place is a solitary tree; the woods on the other side are still great to spend time in, I still let myself get lost in the area to this day! The walk to the cache from the parking coordinates and the fact that the established trails are patchy at best, is the reason the rating is a bit on the high side. At certain times of year you will want to wear clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting muddy and/or insect repellant. Please make sure to replace the cache exactly as found and camo it up nice for the next cacher. Note: The cache difficulty/terrain ratings are going to vary according to the time of year; given the fact it is located in Michigan, that could be every five minutes. I have used an averaged set of ratings due to this fact.
