You can earn the first-ever Dönerstag souvenir by attending a geocaching event on that day.
We're meeting at the Lambton Mall's Food Court and the posted coordinates are for the east door of the mall nearest the food court. Lots of parking very close by. Look for everyone at the mall end, the SW end, of the Food Court.
Dönerstag began in 2007 when German cachers met at kebab shops around the country all at the same time. The tradition caught on!
These special events are held each year on a Thursday. In German, this makes the name “Dönerstag” a pun: The German word for Thursday is “Donnerstag.” Kebab translates to “Döner.”
Last year, over 6000 players attended 233 Dönerstag events. The events were held all over Europe, from Germany and Austria to the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Join us to be included in the fun.
Here’s a chance to share some stories about your geocaching adventures. We can talk about coins and travel bugs, share puzzle solutions, help newbies, or talk anything geocaching. So….come on out and put faces to those creative geocaching names we see on line. Stop by for a visit, or hang out for a while.
If you have travel bugs/geocoins "in your possession" that you "haven't been able to set free" because "all the caches you've encountered are nanos...." then please bring them to this event!
Please Post a Will Attend log if you plan on joining us.
