Fork Horn Buck Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Miata: I went out this afternoon at sunset to bring the cache home. The sun was setting, the air was crisp, thoughts of cachers walking off their Thanksgiving meal went through my head. Deep down I was hoping that my "friend" the buck would be standing in the same spot as a majestic 10 pointer, thick in the neck and waiting to say goodbye. It was not to be. I can only hope that he is off in another part of the park, chasing a lady friend. [:D]

It's sad in a way to disable my 1st cache, but it will make room for someone else to place a cache. I was surprised that even after over 100 visitors to the cache, there was no trail beaten down to it today....just a goofy stick pile that seemed to grow larger with time.

Geocache Description:

A fairly simple hike on well defined hiking trails in a county park. Private property borders some of the park. Do not trespass! Bring your bug spray! Frisbee golf and swim lake for the kids too! No dogs allowed either.

Who will be the first one in the Fox River Valley to snap up the Yellow Jeep 4X4 #3386 Travel bug???

I was walking along a hiking trail looking for the perfect place to place this cache that has been sitting on my work bench since last fall, when suddenly I am face to face with a fork buck in full velvet! That's when I decided upon the spot and the cache name! :) After a short search I found a place fairly close to the path and fairly well concealed. Please be sure to conceal as good or better than you found it without disturbing the area!

I reseeded the cache with trinkets today and added a new log book. The cache will be archived either one year from today or when my travel bug "Ozzy" is returned to this cache, which was his goal after his travels. He has went well over 9400 miles so far! (Edited 5-25-04)

The container is a 7.62MM ammo box which measures 3.5" X 10". On the exterior of the ammo box is an official Geocache.com sticker.
Also, if you read this far....I parked at N44º 19.349 W088º 22.879
