The Pekin Boot Camp geocache series is designed to be educational as well as entertaining. The theme of the series is obvious once you find a cache. All of the caches are located within Coal Miners Park, or the extension across Parkway Drive. This park has daily hours of operation (6AM to 10PM). There is no night caching. Please be aware this park routinely has school and community activities. Be stealthy around the muggles. A parking waypoint is shown and all caches are accessible from that lot. All caches were placed with the permission of the Pekin Park District.
All caches in this series are traditional hides with various size bison tubes. Logs are provided but BYOP. Read the hints and pay attention to the container types. Some cache containers are custom, so please replace carefully. The entire collection of hides can be accessed from the paved trails in the parks without too much bushwhacking. Be aware of standing water in some areas. All areas in the summer months may have poison ivy growth.
Please do not leave log pictures of the caches or hide locations. These will be removed by the owner.

This is a regular size cammo box with a security guard on duty. Please DO NOT REMOVE Joe from the box. Feel free to use this cache for trackables. For first-timers, we have left instructions on how to move a trackable from one cache to another. For your convenience, this can all be accomplished within the Pekin Boot Camp. If the BOOT CAMP TRACKABLE TAG is not here, it may be at the alternate encampment : THE DIRTY DOZEN.
