CALLING ALL GEOCACHERS!
THE DELTA WATERSHED NEEDS A GOOD CLEANING
SATURDAY APRIL 22
9:30 – NOON
The Watershed Park is the largest park in the North Delta area with up to 28 km of trails for walking, biking and even horseback riding. There are 5 main trailheads located around the park and the plan is to meet at the posted coordinates at 9:30 and then break into 5 groups and cover all 5 of the trailheads. Everyone would then return to the posted coordinates at noon for a photo, prize draw and snacks.
Within the boundaries of this park there are at least 20 caches including puzzles, 2 night caches and traditional caches. Since most of the puzzles in this park are mine I am open to helping anyone that asks.
Since 2003, the Corporation of Delta has hosted the annual Watershed Creek Fish Release at Watershed Park in celebration of Earth Day. At this event, Delta residents and the general public are invited to help boost local fish stock by releasing 25,000 young salmon into Watershed Creek, as well as take part in streamside vegetation planting, crafts and environmental presentations. This year this event will take place on April 23rd so it will nice for visitors to walk along nice clean trails courtesy of geocachers.
The Corporation will supply garbage bags, gloves and a couple of garbage picker uppers but if you have your own please bring them. Any donations to the prize draw would also be appreciated and everyone who attends will receive a souvenir from groundspeak!
This event will take place rain or shine or even in the unlikelihood of snow!
