Help is needed in the Hurst Woods site. There is plenty to do including: scrub clearance to preserve an area favoured by our lizard friends and to gain access to an old fence that requires removal, coppicing and general habitat creation.
The address is:
Hurst Woods, Hurst Lane, Charing, Ashford. TN27 (0BH)
Parking may well be a little tight depending on the numbers in attendance. The volunteers usually meet / park in a layby adjacent to the woods and there is enough space there for 4 cars or so. Extra spaces may be located in the vicinity. Due to the lack of parking space, please car share where possible. This would be appreciated.
Some refreshments, tea/coffee may be provided. Please bring your packed lunch if staying for the 4 hours.
Tools are provided. If you wish to bring your own safety/garden gloves, own tools, etc, that will be OK.
If anyone brings a chainsaw, they will need to provide relevant certificates, etc for the health and safety assessment in their ability to use them.
Stuart and I look forward to seeing you, and let's all hope for a dry day :)
