Take a walk along the Third Fork Creek Greenway. On one side of the trail is Durham's Public Works Department and other side is greenery. Please don't climb the fence into the Public Works Department. I know, those big trucks are tempting, but leave them alone.
The nearest parking is at the Southern Boundaries Park on Third Fork Rd. in Durham (off Archdale which is off MLK). The trail can flood after a big rain so keep watch for trail closing info (and I'll do my best to keep the page updated).
Walking down here from the park, someone has noted on the sidewalk/greenway there is a snapping turtle nearby and to use caution. I haven't seen the turtle but I would heed the warning.
