How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

*High Risk cache*

The Cache itself is not on a cliff, but it is 30 ft away from the cliff inside a small crevice. It dose require some climbing (again not along the cliff) ied say about Class 2- class 3 scaling. Take the tiny dirt split off and venture from there. youll go over some brances of a pine tree then its scaling after that. Stay away from the cliff. Not recommended for children. good luck and be safe.

H.A.M. Radio

Is a means of communication without a cell signal and no wifi. Just the power in your radio (no more power then it would take to turn on a lightbulb), a battery, an antenna and thats it! It can be used for emergency communication, camping communication or talking all over the world.

Summits on the Air: SOTA

In conjunction with ham radio, the goal is to take portable equitment to the top of a mountain, make a minnimum of 4 contacts. The fun part for me, is seeing how far i can communicate with someone. SOTA is an award program with a very specifc definition of a summit, combining hiking with ham radio. You get points based on how high a Summit is. this Summit is worth 2 points. My goal is to reach 100 summits. are you starting to see where geocaching comes into play?
