1871 Robert and Martha George erected this monument in memory of their son , Thomas and others who died in the Civil War from Ross Township Jefferson County Ohio.
Most were members of Company K, 2nd Ohio Volunteer Infantry. Captain David Mitcheel commanding.
They frought at : Perryville Kentucky ,were Thomas was killed.
