Geocache Description:

This might be a quck C&D on a quiet day. On a busy day you might need to use your top stealth skills and patience as tourists and joggers pass by. On summer nights when there's a concert at Pier Six Pavillion across the harbor, there will likely be folks sitting here listening to the music for free, and they might not be moving for a while. Have a seat, sit, relax, and take in the harbor as Tom Clancy might have seen it from his former home. BYOP.

If log is full, please take a photo from your view as a log.

This cache is placed in honor of one of my favorite authors, Tom Clancy. Tom Clancy is most famous for his Jack Ryan series books, including The Hunt for Red October (1984) and The Sum of All Fears (1991). Four of his novels were turned into movies, with Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, and Ben Afflec taking turns portraying CIA Agent Jack Ryan. Clancy was also a minority owner of my favorite baseball team the Baltimore Orioles. The building nearest to the Rusty Scupper was one of the late author's residences from approximately 2009 until his death in 2013.

In 2009, Clancy and his wife spent a then-record-setting $12.6 million to combine four units into one 12,000-square-foot penthouse. Their new home was so big, it outstripped the author's Calvert County mansion on the Chesapeake Bay by 1,600 square feet.

The Clancys' former penthouse features stunning views of the Inner Harbor and includes five bedrooms, two offices, three private elevators, a gym and an in-home theater. Nearly everything is white or clear with occasional splashes of silver. There are white lamps, white tables, white couches and cushions, white rugs, white curtains, white counters and cabinets and even white wall decor. - The Baltimore Sun 10/29/2015

Legend even has it that at one point the author had his own private gun range inside the home behind you. Initially listed at $12 million dollars in late 2015, the condo is still available the publishing of this cache for a cool $7.9 million dollars. Still available as of 10/3/2018!
