The Heaviest Elk in Redwood National Park! Traditional Cache

This is a basic geocache, with safe parking, and family friendly access. 

This Geocache was created as a class project. The goal of this event was to get more people outside and active in Redwood National Park!

Park in the gravel lot by the main sign. This great property holds much history of the area, it was originally one of the main lumber mills around, and now is used as a vacation rental resort for visitors to Redwood National Park. 

From the parking area, the cache is not too far off, less than 100 yards away. This was intended to be a family friendly cache, to get newbies into the hobby! 

The Roosevelt Elk here can weigh up to 1,200 pounds naturally, and will defend their territory strongly. Do not get too close, as they can hurt and kill humans if they feel threatened! Safety first please!
