Jander byl sestrojen v roce 4920 na planetě Aurora, jednom z padesáti intermitentních světů. Byl druhým humanoidním robotem, jenž se dokonale podobá člověku. Nebyl telepat, ale dokázal pozorováním osoby odhadovat s velkou úspěšností mentální pochody lidí. Byl dvojčetem Daneela. Bohužel byl na Aurorě zničen. Do vyšetřování se pouští detektiv Elijáš Baley.

Jander was constructed in 4920 AD on Aurora, one of the fifty Spacer worlds. He was the second humanoid robot that was ever constructed and was virtually indistinguishable from a human being. Although he was not a telepath, he was able to estimate the emotional content of a human's thoughts successfully. His twin brother was R. Daneel Olivaw. He was destroyed on Aurora. The police detective Elijah Baley is called to solve the case on Aurora.
