The McCarty Ranch is 3,100 acres of largely old Florida pine lands. The property will serve as an environmentally-friendly passive recreational area for all to enjoy.
Residents and visitors can enjoy activities on both land and water. Trails have been cleared for walking, biking and horseback riding. A lake system covering more than 300 acres provides opportunities for fishing, canoeing and kayaking. Disc golf is also available.
McCarty Ranch is operated by the Port St Lucie park district and is open from 7 a.m. until sunset.
A couple of months ago some of us got together for a day of caching. While doing this, we were removing some old caches to make room for something a little different. The cache owner told me to take this cache and place it further south so I did. Finally. This is a nice simple one right off the trail head.
