Geocache Description:

What: Dorchester Community CITO (Cache-in-Trash-Out) event.


 

Where:  Dorchester Community Center, 5005 Dorchester Circle, Waldorf, MD 20603

Who: All cachers new and experienced and bring friends and family too.

When: Saturday, April 29th from 9:30am-12pm.  Meet at the posted coordinates at 9:30 and small groups will be dispatched to different areas of the neighborhood.

Why: To give back to the community by picking up trash and recyclables and making the neighborhood extra clean.

This event will be hosted by Dorchester Community Center, Waves of Westlake swim team and yours truly. They will be supplying the following:

  • Trash Bags
  • Extra Gloves
  • Water

Items that YOU should bring with you:

  • Gloves
  • Boots
  • Long Pants (for those who are allergic to to poison ivy or wish to avoid briars, brambles or other pokey things!
  • Friends and Family
  • Grabbers 

    Why:
    To clean up the environment, talk geocaching, and trade bugs. Those who wish to may also do some geocaching before or after the event there are numerous caches in and around Dorchester.

    Extra things to keep in mind:

  • If you pick up a Travel Bug or trackable coin at one of the events, make sure you log it out so it doesn't show up in the events list. If a trackable sits as being listed in the event for a couple of months, the cache owner is the one that gets the e-mail from the TB owner(s).
  • This event will be held rain or shine.
  • Those who wish to help out with this event please come dressed appropriately. While this IS an urban environment long pants are encouraged if you don't want scratched knees.
