Cette première visite vous transporte au coin des rues de Bleury et Jurors en 1921. La rue Jurors (rue des Jurés) de-
viendra par la suite l'avenue Viger. Du côté nord de Jurors, il y avait le restau-
rant "Quick Lunch" de J.Kyriazes et la manufacture de brosses de W.H. Ulley. De l'autre côté, l'épicerie de Pat D. Ambrose et la librairie Diamond Book.

This first visit brings you to the corner of the streets De Bleury and Jurors in 1921. Jurors street (rue des Jurés) will even-
tually become Viger Avenue. On the north side of Jurors, there was the "Quick Lunch" of J. Kyriazes and the brush factory of W. H. Ulley. On the other side, Pat D. Ambrose's grocery store and the Diamond Book Bookstore.

Rappelons qu'à cette même année, une lettre pastorale de l'archevêque de Montréal, Paul Bruchési, dénonça le cinéma, le théâtre, la danse et la mode comme des moyens de perdition pour les catholiques. Le mois de janvier avait été très froid avec une moyenne de -25c alors qu'un beau mois de juillet avait donné des températures moyennes de 30c.

In the same year, a pastoral letter from the Archbishop of Montreal, Paul Bruchési, denounced cinema, theater, dance and fashion as means of perdition for Catholics. The month of January had been very cold with an average of -25c whereas a beautiful month of July had given average temperatures of 30c.
