The Life's a Beach series, started by Heartradio in Beer, Devon, and growing rapidly, comes to Essex for the first time at Clacton-on-Sea and Holland-on-Sea!

This is simple Wherigo cache (suitable for beginners) that starts at the Martello Tower at the former Butlins site, then will take you eastwards along West Beach to Clacton Pier. The cache itself is an appropriately-camouflaged bison tube hidden somewhere further east along the promenade from the pier. Across the sites you will meet various characters, both real (historical) and fictional, who will ask a question about the location; a correct answer reveals the next stage. The questions are a mix of multiple choice and open-ended, whichever is appropriate for the particular location.

You will need to download the cartridge onto your smartphone or some GPS devices. The cartridge can be downloaded here.
