Geocache Description:

Join me in your Goth best for a celebration of a spooky subculture! Most people head to Disneyland; I'm heading to Funland to play a round of putt-putt golf!

Meet at 11:30am just outside for a quick meet n greet (30 mins) and then if you so choose, join me for a game! I hope you dress up with me!! laugh

Bats Day is a celebration of the subcultures of Deathrock to Goth, Industrial to Steampunk, Rockabilly to Psychobilly, Halloween and anywhere in between. The one thing that brings them all together is their love for Disney! While attendees typically dress in this attire daily, I'd love it if everyone came rocking their most fun outfit, doesn't matter what type of goth culture (there's more options than the full black outfit and pale faced look!)

Funland opens at 11am on Sundays, and putt-putt is $6 per person and FREE for anyone under age 3.

You do NOT have to stay for fun and games, but how often do you get a chance/reason to dress up and it's NOT Halloween????

Bring your TB, your tales and I hope to see you there!!!

FROM the Bats Day Website:
"Bats Day in the Fun Park, which started in August 1999 between the promoters of the goth/industrial & deathrock clubs, Absynthe and Release the Bats, has turned into a 3-day weekend event near Disneyland, Ca.

It is true that Bats Day in the Fun Park was in August. People have always asked why Bats Day was in August. When Bats Day first started, it was just a park meet. The weekend Bats Day would happen was the first weekend of Disneyland’s summer schedule that the lowest annual pass was not blocked.  This was the last weekend that Disneyland would close at 12am.  When Disneyland was not on its summer schedule the park would close between 8pm and 9pm.

Then in 2008 Bats Day had its 10th anniversary event, the “Year of a Million Screams.” We decided to change things up and do something special. We moved the event to the month of November.  This way the attendees who have come to the event get to see the Haunted Mansion as Haunted Mansion Holiday.  Also Disneyland stays open much later on Sunday then when it used to back in 1999.

In 2009, Bats Day is moved it annual month to May. The month of August became too hot.  We felt May was a much cool month for the event."
