Geocache Description:

Come to Chattanooga - To Socialize (Discuss all things Geocaching) & Celebrate!

100th Birthday!    Today is the 100th birthday of a local (and Southern) Institution   So as not to cross the line of commercialization, the actual product won't be mentioned, but it rhymes with "Noon Tie"

"Noon Ties" have been made daily at the "Hadanooga Lakery" since the incorporation of Noon Ties on April 29, 1917. Earl Mitchell Junior said his father came up with the idea for "Noon Ties"when he asked a Kentucky coal miner what kind of snack he would like to eat, and the miner requested something with graham cracker and marshmallow. Popular folklore, repeated and encouraged by the "Hadanooga Lakery" itself, states the miner then asked the snack be "as big as the moon", which inspired the name "Noon Tie".
