The Bearsted Golf Club Trail comprises of a total of 5 caches. All caches can be visited separately, but if you follow all the waypoints you can visit all the caches on a nice walk around the golfcourse.
This cache is a small plastic container (slighty bigger than a 35mm film canister), wrapped in camo tape. The logbook is stored in a waterproof tube, therefore tweezers are recommended. Please replace the log into the tube after signing. A pen will be required to sign the logs. The cache has room for small swaps or travelbugs etc, please ensure the box is closed properly before re-hiding.
After finding the cache, continue along the path, then follow path across, behind the club house, turn right at path t-junction by practice net. Continue on path crossing in front of green keepers shed once again, this time go straight on then follow the track as it bears left around the back of the golf green (keeping the green on your left). Follow the track through the gap in the hedge, then head diagonally right past large oak tree, across fairway and into the woods.
Turn left before reaching the stream. The path will take you back onto the golf course. Keeping to the footpath, with the stream on your right, pass a golf green on your left (please be respectful of golfers on the green). Continue past a small wood and golf tee, both on your left, then on past a 2nd golf green. Turn left behind the green (between the green and the hedge). Follow the sign towards the 7th tee. Before reaching the tee turn right through trees towards the next cache.
All caches have been placed on, or close to public footpaths. Footpaths across the golf course are marked by posts with arrows and yellow paint. Please keep to the footpaths as the surrounding land is private. Please be aware that some of the footpaths on the golf course cross fairways, obey all signs and watch out for stray golfballs. Please keep dogs on leads and under close control while on the golf course.
Decent footware is recommended especially following wet weather as the paths through Honeyhills wood become very muddy.
