Geocache Description:

This geocache is concealed at the summit of Cnoc Coinnich.  This mountain is very special because it has recently been created an official "Corbett" which is a mountain in Scotland over 2500'.  Cnoc Coinnich means "Mossy Knoll" in Gaelic.  There are fantastic views all around from the top, out over Loch Long to Loch Lomond, and in the other direction over Loch Goil as far as the Isle of Arran.

To get to the geocache, start from Lochgoilhead village where there is parking at the lochside.  Follow the Cowal Way (signposted) up past the Donich Falls and through the woods until you come to a stile leading on to the hillside (Coillessan Bealach).  From there the Cowal Way goes on straight ahead but turn to your right and you will see Cnoc Coinnich.  Walk up the pathless and somewhat steep slope to the summit (about 45 minutes walk).  There is a secondary summit to your left after about 30 minutes - so ignore this and carry on upwards.  The summit is marked with a small cairn and the geocache is concealed near it.  The cache container is a small plastic box which contains a memento of Scotland and a poem in Scots Gaelic.
