Geocache Description:

You are looking for a hanging cache.

Congratulations to Merlin1392 for the FTF! I love the picture! Thank you

""I'll think of something," he temporized, and Horace nodded wisely, satisfied that Halt would indeed think of something. In Horace's world, that was what Rangers did best, and the best thing a warrior apprentice could do was let the Ranger get on with thinking while a warrior took care of walloping anyone who needed to be walloped along the way. He settled back in the saddle, contented with his lot in life."" John Flanagan Author of Ranger’s Apprentice Book 4: The Battle For Skandia.

I am creating a new cache series named after the characters in these books. My son started reading them and once I picked one up, I was hooked.

Horace and Will grew up antagonizing each other in the orphan ward. After Will saves his life during a wild boar hunt, Will gains Horace’s respect. The enduring side of Horace is, he completely discounts the fact that he also saved Will’s life during the event and pledges to always have Will’s back.

For this cache, you have made it down to the river. Did you keep your shoes clean? That was my goal. If you start at Tug, walk to Halt then head this way, you should not only enjoy this pretty woods, but also stay clean and dry.

In the Spring before it rains, (The Dams are letting the water flow out more now too I think.) the river is so low, you can go walk out on the river bed. That is how I found this spot. Now you can follow the deer trail near the river bank. This cache can also be reached by boat.

Thorn warning: Watch for thorns. There are so many thorns. I recommend covering your feet and wearing long pants.

I will be placing a loop of caches here. Tug is #1. Halt is #2. Horace is #3. If you follow the caches and not the old driveway, you may keep your feet dry.

Horace is the 4th cache in my “Ranger's Apprentice” Series. The 1st is Will No-Name & is located in a different Consumers Energy Plantation.             GC725GN
