Geocache Description:

Discovered this spot while on some backroads in the area seeking a couple of other hides.

As I was driving by this location I took a look to the northwest and observed the highway overpass for the 401 in the distance. As I was doing so I was pretty certain I observed the white headlight of a ghost train speeding down the track towards me. No tracks here but there are signs of an abandoned rail bed in the area, which would have been a line for the Michigan Central Railway, with this section later being operated by the Canadian National Railway.

This line would have run between St. Thomas (once known as the railway capital of Canada) and Courtright, Ontario. Other lines of the Michigan Central Railway would have connected St. Thomas, Ontario with Detroit, Michigan and westward to Chicago, Illinois and eastward to Niagara Falls and onward to New York City.
