The original Woodward Municipal Airport was located just south of this cache, where Crystal Beach Golf Course is now located. It was used from 1929 to 1954. The origina Woodward airport was described as having a 2,100 foot by 1,993 foot rectangular sod landing area. Later, it had three sod runways, the longest being the 2,100foot northwest/southeast runway. There was also a north/south and a southwest/northeast runway. This airport was said to offer fuel, repairs, and hangers. Oh, how times have changed.
