The cows eat grass slowly without worrying about human beings in magnificent scenery.
The contrast between the cows and myriad white limestones is a very interesting sight.
In "Genji ga Daba", there is also a first triangular point and it is marked as "Altitude 1,402.8 m" by the Geographical Survey Institute.

源氏ヶ駄馬は四国の西予市にある標高1,100m～1,400ｍの石灰岩台地です。
源氏ヶ駄馬は、四国西予ジオパークの一つです。
また、日本の三大カルスト地形の一つで、一番高い位置にあります。
その昔、この無数の白い石灰岩の姿を見た平家の残党が、白馬に乗った多勢の源氏が自分たちを取り囲んでいるものと見間違え、慌ててこの地から退却したそうです。
それ以来この台地は「源氏ヶ駄場」と呼ばれるようになったという由来が伝えられています。
現在では白馬ではなく、乳牛が放牧され、大野ヶ原の放牧地を見たい方にも人気のスポットです。
大野ヶ原の雄大な景色の中で人間を気にすることなくのんびり草を食む牛たちと、白い無数の石灰岩の対比が面白い光景となっています。
また源氏ヶ駄場の中に、一等三角点もあり、『標高1,402.8ｍ』として国土地理院に印されています。
