I love forest intersections, but this one... I dunno. This is an exploratory-navigational cache. The roads from here to the east are difficult in a 2wd, and GPSr signal in this spot is sketchy (all of which is taken into account in the ratings). Frankly, I'm looking for the way through from either end, and want a green dot on the map in order to find and make a nice clean line along the ridge and through the forest, well, what's left of it.
I did a little poking around up here, and the scenery is awesome, but not recommended for the acrophobic. Also, is your vehicle small enough to turn around on a one-lane dirt road if a tree's down on it, without going over the dizzying edge? What if it's muddy? In some places these are cliff-edge BLM roads in partially clearcut forest. Be brave, but play it safe up here.
