I have friends that live down this road. People that I have worked with as well as those I grew up with. There are many stories I could tell about them, but my thoughts are on their father. I met Mr. Brown back in grade school. I lived in Angwin, and he was the farm manager there. As a kid, I spent many Saturday afternoons walking around the farm and checking out all the animals. When I got older, I ended up getting a job working at the farm irrigating the many fields locating around Angwin. He was a very hardworking and fair boss. I remember a sign he had posted in his office.
It said, "If you don't work more than you are paid, you will never get paid more than you work"!
I think he always worked harder than he was paid. I have never met a person that gave himself to others like he did! I think of him often and I know that I am a better person, because of him. I hope I will get to see him again some day....
