Over the Easter Break GSEL and I went on a caching expedition into the wilds of the Wairarapa, heading along a Forestry road in search of caches. This was a truly enjoyable drive, with amazing views glimpsed, and a wide variety of cache locations. Where appropriate, we did some cache maintenance by popping in replacement logbooks (Didn't need very many). Riversdale Beach provided a very welcome stop for Ice Cream at the end!
As we went, we found a couple of areas which seemed to be empty of caches, so this is an attempt to rectify that omission. It's up a slight bank, to remove the risk of it being washed away in floods (I hope). The cache is a small pill bottle with the log in a plastic bag. Please make sure the lid is closed up afterwards - I don't want to have to do a maintenance run too often!
If you're heading towards Riversdale Beach, there is space to pull off just before the bridge, and there is a slight scramble to a suitable indicative item, and the cache is nearby. Many thanks to GSEL for the coordinates checked on his GPS unit.
Enjoy your visit!
