Greetings from the Geocaching local community!
Let’s meet during the #ExperienceBucharest event from the 12th to the 16th of May and find together the best hidden treasures of the city. We will do a real treasure hunt, discovering the less known tourist attractions and the best crafted caches in the city.
If you don’t know what Geocaching is, you are welcome too!
The Geocaching Romania Community is very friendly, keen to teach you the basics of the game and to help you find your first treasure.
What is Geocaching?
Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location.
At its simplest level, geocaching requires the following steps:
- Register for a free membership on the official geocaching website
- Go to the site and look at the map (or use the search function) to identify the nearest caches;
- Go outside and search for the geocache:
- Use your GPS device to assist you in finding the hidden geocache.
- Once found the box, sign in the logbook and then put the geocache where you found it.
- Go back to the site (or in the mobile app) and share your experience and any photos with your experience.
What is #ExperienceBucharest?
Experience Bucharest 2017, will be the largest project promoting Bucharest tourism that has been ever done. We are inviting 100 top bloggers, vloggers, instagrammers, snapchatters and travel influencers around the world to experience Bucharest and connect with 100 Romanians content creators.
The mission of this initiative is to position Bucharest as a prrefered destination of travelers in Eastern Europe. We hope that we will succeed because of native beauty of the city and various atractions.
